Oxygen Rich Environments

This application can be very dangerous. Oxygen in a pure form will ignite if it comes in contact with a hydrocarbon oil, grease etc... Since we generally use oil and Buna N elastomers in our pumps, certain precautions need to be addressed.

The pumps should be ordered with explosion proof motors and should be prepared for oxygen use and filled with a oxygen compatible lubricant. The pumps need to be especially prepared for this application. Care should be taken to use silicone elastomers and thread sealants approved for use in oxygen rich environments.
