Mercury can often be found around vacuum and high vacuum systems.
Mercury in your system is potentially dangerous. It can get in
the air as a gas under vacuum and will build up in the users physical body
making for all kinds of health related problems. It doesn't leave
you, you just serve as a kind of human warehouse for it until it reaches
terminal levels.
We have traps for mercury vapor typically composed of activated carbon
elements that help trap mercury. It is highly recommended that
venting from the exit of the trap be to a hood and that your engineering
department and safety department of your company understand what is going
on.
This stuff is dangerous please recognize that and lets take the
appropriate steps to trap it out of the air stream.
